Scholar Highlights for Week Ending June 1, 2012

June 4, 2012

Kayla:

“The trip has been taxing on my emotions and my spirit.  There’s been constant chaos in the schedule, the personality mix, the hustle and bustle of the city, and fest of cultures, experiences, and ways of life in my own mind.  Today was a much-needed break; a time to discover perfect peace and harmonize with nature.  I’ve always appreciated the bare essentials of this earth, its natural wonders.  Being in such a scenic place like the cape brings such serenity to my life. It’s such a necessary change from the fast pace life that we live in the United States.  It’s refreshing not to see every inch of land developed and flourishing in plant life.  It was a calming experience to walk by the sea to day and watch the mountains sit and mull over the rest of the cape.  Despite the separation of class, race, and culture, one of the things all the communities share in the area is the beauty of this place.  Table Top Mountain connects the divide and watches over them all.  This was such a beautiful way to end this journey. “
